Hill Runners of Hunterdon - County Adopt-A-Trail Program
Hunterdon County Deer Path Park Trail System
Through the Hunterdon County Parks Department, our running club has adopted the trails at Deer Path Park for their Adopt-A-Trail Program. Sunday July 13th will be our inaugural trail clean-up and maintenance day as part of our commitment. We will be hosting runs several times a year from Deer Path Park, so that afterward those members available and interested may help with trail maintenance. The club will provide garbage bags and plastic/rubber gloves for clean-up.
The path system we are responsible for includes the trails within Deer Path Park, not the trails in the Round Mountain Section or the path to the Wings Section (see trail map: http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/parks/ParkAreas/DeerPath/brochure.pdf). Our responsibility will generally be litter pick up along the trails.
Even if you don't want to run, you can join us after our run to help. This is based on volunteers within our club, but no one is obligated. However, I heard a rumor there will be some refreshments! :) The more that help, the less time it will take; however, I do not anticipate this taking significant amount of time (approximately 30-45 minutes).
If you have any questions please reach out to me, Becca at president@hrhnj.org.
Thanks for your support - and Happy Running!
